Minimum Qualifications
Civil Engineering degree or diploma
3 years of relevant civil estimating industry experience, preferably in Asphalt municipal and DTI related projects
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with HCSS Heavy Bid or similar estimating programs.
Responsibilities
Step into the exciting world of construction tendering, where you as an Estimator/Project Coordinator are armed with a strategic mind and a competitive spirit! You will navigate design/build and build-to-spec contracts, deciphering project drawings and specifications. With a keen eye for detail, you will perform accurate take-offs and concoct detailed estimates from first principals and cost history, using your estimating software expertise.
You will complete pre‑job tasks associated with new projects such as gathering documents, issuing utility locates, requesting permits and preparing submission documents. You will solicit quotations, battle through peer reviews, and engage in negotiations with suppliers and subcontractors. Attending pre‑bid and pre‑award meetings, chairing post‑award gatherings, and ensuring smooth project liftoff are also part of the role.
Keeping in close contact with the project managers, you will assist with change orders and maintain excellent relationships with clients, subcontractors, and the public. You will be responsible for ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
