Regulatory Compliance Requirements
Requires direct or indirect access to hardware, software, technology or technical data controlled under the Canadian Export Control List, the ITAR or the EAR.
Requires a positive Controlled Goods assessment as you will have direct access to hardware, software, technology or technical data controlled under the Canadian Controlled Goods Program.
Required to obtain and maintain a Security Clearance at the NATO Secret Level.
Position Summary
We have a current vacancy for a Naval Engineering Maintenance (NEM) Liaison.
Embedded within the Fleet Engineering Readiness (FER) section of the Royal Canadian Navy, the Naval Engineering Maintenance (NEM) Liaison serves as the primary Point of Contact (POC) between relevant coastal organizations for the iterative development of Arctic and Offshore Patrol Vessel (AOPV) and Joint Support Ship (JSS) Fleet Service Schedules. The NEM Liaison prioritizes deficiencies and manages their rectification schedule for all AOPV and JSS In-Service Support (AJISS) coastal platforms.
As a representative of Thales on the AJISS Assignment Team (AAT), the NEM Liaison is responsible for coordinating among all AJISS stakeholders for the allocation, prioritization, disposition, and reporting of deficiencies from notification to closeout. Reporting to the Coastal Operations Manager, the NEM Liaison tracks and reports on Key Performance Indicator (KPI) metrics related to Service Delivery.
Key Areas of Responsibility
The NEM liaison is responsible for:
Acting as the main Point of Contact (POC) for FER, ensuring all deficiencies reported by ship staff are valid and assigned appropriate repair priorities.
Coordinating FER priorities and managing workflow between FER and Thales related activities.
Being available on a rotational, 24/7 on-call basis (unless formally delegated), to respond to urgent requests from FER, MEPM(NC), and FMF.
Resolving day-to-day issues arising from FER on all ships.
Coordinating High Priority Requests (HPRs) and TRANREQs, facilitating communication to and from the ship.
Reporting the status of Operational Deficiencies (OPDEF) as received from FER.
Managing, tracking, and reporting on OPDEF rectification plans.
Coordinating Material State Disclosure Conferences (MSDCs) Caveat A/B status for Thales-responsible items.
Arranging and facilitating progress meetings with FER as required.
Representing Thales in the development of Formation and Fleet Operational schedules (AOPVs and JSSs), ensuring balanced repair and maintenance efforts across the fleet.
Scheduling and attending regular meetings with AJISS stakeholders to review ship schedules, including Short Work Periods and Docking Work Periods.
Communicating all operational requirements and schedule changes from FER to appropriate Thales stakeholders.
Tracking and reporting metrics used to inform KPIs related to Service Delivery.
Participating in the refinement of KPI definitions as needed.
Representing Thales as a member of the AJISS Assignment Team (AAT).
Attending regular AAT meetings to confirm work assigned to Thales.
Liaising with other AAT members outside of scheduled meetings to facilitate timely decision-making for urgent defects.
Preparing slides and attending the weekly NEM brief on the coast, representing Thales.
Attending project meetings and providing ship status updates as required.
Participating in recurring Financial Review Meetings internally and with customers.
Coordinating with other coastal NEM Liaisons to manage the Fleet Scheduling B2B process for AJISS.
Promoting a culture of teamwork and collaboration across all levels within the customer organization, leveraging the Relational Contracting (RC) model and the RC AJISS Enterprise Charter.
