Lead climate initiatives with the City of New Westminster as a Senior Climate Action Planner. Drive progress on sustainability and emissions reduction focused on community impact and resilience.

Join the Energy and Climate Action Department to advance corporate and community climate strategies such as the Community Energy and Emissions Plan 2050 (CEEP) and e-Mobility Strategy. Collaborate with municipal utilities to integrate innovative energy management solutions. You’ll oversee specialists while supporting land use policy work that includes climate action components.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare annual climate action plan updates

• Lead implementation of climate action initiatives

• Oversee corporate GHG emission reporting

• Support major projects including CEEP and CEERS

• Develop public EV charging network implementation plan

Requirements:

• University graduation in relevant discipline

• Professional designation in fields like planning or engineering

• Knowledge of energy and carbon reduction policies

• Experience in local government processes

• Strong communication and leadership skills
