Prodapt is seeking a highly skilled  5G Protocol & Certification Engineer  in Fremont, CA to focus on the signaling and functional verification of cutting‑edge mobile devices, ensuring they meet stringent carrier and emergency service requirements. In this role, you will develop and execute protocol test plans, perform deep‑dive modem log analysis, and collaborate closely with OEM and network teams to drive certification closure on complex 5G features.

Responsibilities

Develop and execute comprehensive protocol verification plans for 5G/LTE designs, including defining test strategies for  E911, RTT, and LPPe/PIDF-LO  protocols.

Design, develop, and maintain test environments using  Keysight, Rohde & Schwarz, or Spirent  simulators to verify 5G functionality, mobility, and IMS features.

Create complex test scenarios and test cases to achieve comprehensive  Carrier Certification  (AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile) and 3

GPP standards compliance.

Analyze modem logs and regression results, debug complex signaling issues using  QXDM, QCAT, and Wireshark , identify root causes, and drive bug resolution.

Work closely with cross‑functional teams, including Modem SW, Architecture, and Carrier Labs, to align verification efforts with project milestones.

Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date documentation for verification plans, test cases, and results to support traceability and final device approval.

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field; or equivalent practical experience.

Requirements

10+ years of industry experience with a Bachelor’s, or 8+ years with a Master’s in relevant domains of  5G/LTE/Modem development or validation .

5+ years of hands‑on experience in  5G Protocol Verification  or closely related Modem/Signaling subsystem verification.

Strong proficiency in  3

GPP Standards  (Rel 15/16) and  IMS Signaling  for block‑level and/or system‑level verification.

Experience with industry‑standard protocol tools ( QXDM, QCAT, Wireshark, ADB ) and coverage‑driven certification flows.

Proficiency with scripting languages such as  Python  for automation, regression management, and data analysis.

Demonstrated strength in modem debugging, root‑cause analysis, and driving verification closure for  E911/Location Services .

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a collaborative, cross‑functional environment.
