Geo Spectrum is growing and has a new career opportunity for an experienced Subcontract Manager! As the Subcontract Manager, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of subcontracting activities, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures, and fostering strong relationships with subcontractors. You’ll play a critical role in the successful execution of our projects and will include vendor capability assessments, strategic sourcing/purchasing specialized equipment, materials, and services for commercial and defence projects.
With your technical expertise in marine products and systems you’ll collaborate with our Major Programs, Engineering, and Manufacturing departments to implement specialized procurement requirements that meet our project/customer technical and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities
Oversee the entire subcontracting process, from solicitation to contract closeout, ensuring all activities are conducted in accordance with company policies and industry standards.
Lead negotiations with subcontractors to secure favorable terms and conditions, ensuring alignment with project requirements and budget constraints.
Ensure all subcontracting activities comply with legal, regulatory, and company requirements, including environmental and safety standards.
Identify and mitigate risks associated with subcontracting activities, developing contingency plans as necessary.
Work with internal SMEs and technical authorities throughout the contracting process to validate conformance to technical requirements.
Monitor subcontractor performance, ensuring timely delivery of goods and services, and addressing any issues that arise.
Manage Supplier related NCRs and ensure all quality OQE is received in a timely manner to support the rectification of the non-conformance.
Build and maintain strong relationships with subcontractors, fostering collaboration and ensuring mutual success.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all subcontracting activities, including contracts, amendments, and correspondence.
Prepare regular reports on subcontracting activities, performance metrics, and risk assessments for senior management.
Refine and update procurement processes to meet the needs of or internal customers and suppliers.
Qualifications
Post‑secondary education in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or relevant career experience.
Minimum five (5) years working in supply chain, specifically sourcing and managing highly technical specialized subcontract services and materials.
Demonstrate the ability to oversee multiple, complex projects and contracts.
Advanced financial and commercial business acumen.
Proven successful negotiation and contract management skills.
Knowledge and experience with Canada’s Industrial and Technological Benefits (ITB) Policy, trade agreements and various procurement strategies/approaches.
Knowledge of industry‑specific regulations and standards.
Valid NS driver’s license is required and passport.
Security Requirements
All candidates must be eligible to obtain and maintain Canadian Controlled Goods and Canadian Government Security clearances.
