Policy Analyst

The Ontario Federation of Agriculture (OFA) is Ontario’s largest general farm organization and we are seeking an experienced Policy Analyst to join our Farm Policy Research Group to support our energy, transportation, water and drainage policy files.

This role supports OFA’s Board of Directors, Policy Advisory Council, Staff and Members by delivering strategic research, analysis and recommendations on issues affecting Ontario agriculture. From legislation and regulatory modernization to farm business programs and sector competitiveness, you’ll help translate policy into practical advocacy and meaningful outcomes for farmers.

• Analyze proposed, draft and current legislation, regulations and government programs at all levels of government
• Draft policy papers, submissions, correspondence and member-facing support materials
• Present policy analysis and make recommendations to OFA’s Board and committees
• Support grassroots policy development through member resolutions
• Provide guidance to staff and members navigating regulatory issues
• Make presentations, represent the OFA in meetings with industry and commodity partner organizations

• 10+ years of relevant experience or a graduate degree in public policy, agriculture, economics or related field
• Strong understanding of Ontario agriculture and public policy processes
• Exceptional research, writing and presentation skills
• Ability to manage multiple policy files in a fast-paced environment
• Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
• Salary commensurate with experience. Range: $73,000–$103,500
