Energy and Environment Compliance Specialist

Location: Moonstone

Make an impact as an Energy and Environmental Technician with Hastings and Prince Edward District School Board, focusing on environmental compliance and risk mitigation. Your technical expertise will facilitate energy efficiency and sustainability initiatives.

In this vital role, you will ensure the Board's compliance with environmental standards while promoting student and staff well-being. A minimum of two years' relevant experience and a diploma in a related field are required. Your tasks will involve leading various environmental programs and conducting audits to identify sustainability opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and report to authorities

• Direct the Asbestos Management Control Plan and emergency response

• Manage district-wide energy systems and implement conservation strategies

• Assist in developing environmental policies and budget planning

• Provide technical training for staff on compliance and safety

Requirements:

• Completion of a two-year post-secondary diploma

• Minimum two years’ relevant work experience

• Understanding of Ontario building codes and environmental regulations

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Valid Ontario Class ‘G’ driver's license
