Position: Municipal By-Law Officer in Caledon
Location: Dufferin County (Shelburne)

Protect community standards as a Municipal By-Law Officer in Caledon. This role prioritizes by-law enforcement and violation management while enhancing public understanding.

Under the supervision of the Municipal Law Enforcement Supervisor, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with local by-laws, such as zoning and noise regulations. A minimum of a post-secondary degree in criminal justice or related discipline is required, alongside three years of relevant municipal experience. This role also involves significant public interaction and collaboration with other agencies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct compliance investigations on properties and businesses

• Develop investigation reports and enter data into AMANDA

• Issue notices of violation and enforcement penalties

• Communicate with owners regarding by-law compliance

• Coordinate joint investigations with external agencies

Requirements:

• Post-secondary education in relevant field necessary

• Minimum three years experience in municipal enforcement

• Certification from OAPSO or MLEOA is preferred

• Knowledge of provincial legislations and by-laws

• Strong investigative and reporting abilities
