This role requires a highly qualified applicant to act as the Municipal City Clerk, steering the legislative services for the City of Red Deer. Ideal candidates will have a degree in Law or Political Science, along with significant supervisory experience. Key tasks include ensuring compliance with legislation, managing Council meetings, and facilitating both elections and quasi-judicial proceedings.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain accurate records for all Council meetings and decisions

• Provide procedural advice based on Roberts Rules of Order

• Oversee operations of quasi-judicial tribunals for appeals

• Direct the organization of election activities and census reporting

• Supervise legislative services staff enhancing teamwork

Requirements:

• Degree in Law, Political Science, or similar

• At least ten years of relevant leadership experience

• Strong knowledge of local governance laws

• Familiarity with election processes and procedures

• Experience in managing unionized workforce
