Position: Norfolk Fire Prevention Officer Role
Location: Fort Simpson

Join Norfolk County as a Fire Prevention Officer and lead vital safety initiatives in community fire risk management. Ensure compliance with safety codes through inspections and education.

This permanent, full-time position in Delhi requires the implementation of fire and life safety regulations and the development of innovative public education programs. You will conduct inspections, review building plans, and respond to emergency situations, ultimately protecting the lives and property of community members. Your contributions will help enhance the overall safety culture in Norfolk County.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee fire safety inspections and compliance checks

• Develop fire prevention educational materials and presentations

• Maintain records of inspections and incidents

• Provide recommendations on safety compliance in developments

• Act as an on-call Duty Officer when necessary

Requirements:

• Minimum of 7 years of firefighting experience

• Certifications in fire inspection and safety education

• Thorough knowledge of the Ontario Fire Code

• Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle

• First Aid and CPR certification current
