Position: Public Works Service Person - Emergency Response Role

Be a part of the City of Victoria's Public Works team as a Service Person focused on emergency responses and municipal maintenance during a temporary six-month contract.

The City of Victoria has four vacancies for a Public Works Service Person. This position encompasses a 40-hour work week with potential after-hours duties. Responsibilities include responding to emergency calls, executing traffic control, and ensuring essential infrastructure like sewers and drains are maintained properly.

Key Responsibilities:

• Respond rapidly to emergency and after-hours calls

• Conduct traffic control and job site security

• Maintain cleanliness on public roads and sidewalks

• Assist Police and Fire Departments as needed

• Operate city trucks and tools safely

Requirements:

• High school diploma required

• Traffic Control Certification (16 hours)

• Snow and Ice Control Certification (12 hours)

• Valid Class 5 BC Driver’s Licence

• Minimum of two years related experience in public works
