Become a key player in emergency management as an Acting Lieutenant II for the City of Brandon. Lead fire response teams and ensure compliance with safety standards in a dynamic environment.
In this role, you will take command during emergencies and supervise a team of Firefighters and Paramedics. Your duties include training staff, maintaining apparatus, and communicating safety protocols. This position demands a decisive leader capable of managing multiple tasks effectively while working collaboratively under the Captain.
Key Responsibilities:
• Oversee operations during emergency response
• Train subordinate staff in emergency protocols
• Maintain and repair firefighting equipment on schedule
• Keep detailed records of station activities and repairs
• Engage in fire investigations and public education duties
Requirements:
• Current Class 4 with Air endorsement license
• College of Paramedics of Manitoba Certificate of Practice
• Completion of one year as Acting Lieutenant I
• Approved training in Incident Command and safety education
• Initiative demonstrated through community engagement preferred
