Parking Patrol Officer TFT

The City of White Rock is a unique, ocean-side community of 22,000 citizens located half an hour south of Vancouver on the shore of Semiahmoo Bay.
Overview
The City seeks a Temporary Full-Time Parking Patrol Officer to complement their team. The officer will deliver top‑notch customer service to the community while performing enforcement work in ensuring compliance with municipal parking regulations and bylaws. Duties include patrolling parking areas, issuing citations for parking infractions, providing information on parking regulations and equipment, preparing routine records, collecting coins from parking equipment, performing routine maintenance and minor repairs on related equipment, and communicating any observed problems such as vandalism on City property.
Evening and weekend work is required.
Qualifications
Completion of Grade 12 and some related regulatory or enforcement experience dealing with the public; or an equivalent combination of training and experience; and/or coursework related to the work is preferred. Experience preferably in a municipal setting.
Requirements
Sound knowledge of the regulations and bylaws governing traffic and parking within the municipality, and of the municipal street layout.
Some knowledge of the operation and maintenance of parking equipment.
Ability to interpret and professionally explain regulations and handle complaints with tact, impartiality, and firmness, demonstrating sound judgement.
Exceptional customer service, communication and conflict resolution skills.
Ability to maintain clear and accurate records.
Ability to walk for long durations and up steep slopes in all types of weather.
Ability to work cooperatively and amicably in a team environment with a safety‑first attitude.
Ability to successfully pass a Police Information Check.
Possess and maintain a valid B.C. Class 5 driver’s license or equivalent with an acceptable driving record.
