Fire Prevention Officer

Position: Fire Prevention Officer in Norfolk County
Location: Brant and Norfolk (Waterford)

Lead fire safety initiatives as a Fire Prevention Officer with Norfolk County, based in Delhi, Ontario. Conduct vital inspections and educate the public on fire risks.

This role involves conducting fire inspections and developing educational programs to promote safety in Norfolk County. Your guiding expertise will ensure compliance with fire codes and foster a culture of prevention within the community. Reporting to the Deputy Fire Chief, this full-time position features a mix of in-office and field responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Execute life safety compliance inspections regularly

• Develop community outreach fire education programs

• Record incidents and manage inspection data

• Collaborate on reviewing safety plans for developments

• Respond to calls as designated by leadership

Requirements:

• Certification as Fire Inspector II and Public Educator I

• Seven years of relevant firefighting experience

• Skilled in fire safety education program development

• Possession of a valid Ontario class DZ license

• Valid First Aid and CPR certification

Promote fire safety across Norfolk County and ensure compliance with fire legislation through proactive education and inspection.
