Municipal City Clerk in Red Deer

Location: Central Foothills (Sundre)

Lead legislative efforts as the Municipal City Clerk for the City of Red Deer, Alberta. This in-office role requires deep knowledge in governance, elections, and municipal legislation.

As a senior statutory officer, you will steward the City’s legislative framework while supporting transparent decision-making. Responsible for guiding the Legislative Services section, your role demands a solid understanding of Council and committee processes to ensure adherence to legal frameworks. You'll be synergizing a team of nine, providing neutral governance support at all levels.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage all corporate meeting processes for City Council

• Serve as Parliamentarian, offering expert legislative advice

• Oversee elections and census, ensuring compliance

• Ensure training for quasi-judicial tribunal staff

• Maintain accurate records and legislative compliance

Requirements:

• 10 years of supervisory experience in a municipal setting

• University degree in Law, Political Science, or related field

• Knowledge of Municipal Government and Access to Information Acts

• Certification as a Municipal Clerk or similar designations

• Familiarity with Robert’s Rules of Order
