Position: Policy Coordinator for Vuntut Gwitchin
Location: Central Yukon (Dawson City)

Assist in shaping policies at Vuntut Gwitchin First Nation as a Policy Coordinator.

Your role will involve researching and developing governance frameworks in support of community initiatives.

As the Policy Coordinator, you will lead the evaluation of policies for the VGFN while supporting the Executive Office. Key skills include critical policy analysis, inter-departmental collaboration, and Indigenous governance research, which will be essential in this impactful position.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead policy development to support new and revised initiatives

• Conduct jurisdictional research to identify governance best practices

• Collaborate with departments for coordinated policy frameworks

• Develop clear messaging for Citizen engagement

• Monitor budgets related to policy initiatives

Requirements:

• Degree in political science or related field preferred

• 3-5 years of relevant policy or governance experience

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and records management

• Familiarity with Yukon First Nation agreements an asset

• Ability to facilitate meetings with stakeholders
