Senior Planner at Devon Municipal

Location: Central Alberta (Stettler)

Join the Town of Devon as a Senior Planner to drive sustainable community growth through expert planning and policy development. This role requires deep knowledge of municipal regulations and strategic land use.

The Town of Devon is seeking a seasoned Senior Planner with extensive experience in municipal planning and development. You will lead and support statutory planning, review complex development permit applications, and coordinate stakeholder engagement. Strong analytical skills, knowledge of the Municipal Government Act, and the ability to manage competing priorities are critical for this role.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop expertise in municipal and provincial planning policies

• Review and evaluate development permit applications

• Manage land use applications and amendments

• Prepare reports and recommendations for Council meetings

• Coordinate public consultations and stakeholder sessions

Requirements:

• University of Alberta Applied Land Use Planning Certificate or equivalent

• 3-5 years of progressive planning experience

• Knowledge of planning legislation and land use bylaws

• Strong communication and conflict-resolution skills

• Proficiency in GIS and Microsoft Office Suite
