This Planner I position is a rewarding opportunity within the Development Services department of Smithers. You will be responsible for providing professional planning services, working closely with community members, developers, and public stakeholders. The role involves advising Council on planning initiatives, processes, and compliance to enhance community development efforts. This is a 2-year term position with a competitive wage of $40.19 per hour.

Key Responsibilities:

• Facilitate planning services for various community projects

• Advise on development applications and Council recommendations

• Communicate Town bylaws to developers and residents

• Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure project success

• Assess compliance with local planning regulations

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Community Planning

• Class 5 driver’s license is necessary

• Relevant education or experience may be accepted
