Urban Planner Midland

Position: Full-Time Urban Planner Midland
Location: Lake Simcoe West Shore (Oro)

Drive urban development in Midland as a full-time Urban Planner with the Corporation of the Town of Midland. Engage in meaningful projects that enhance community services and planning initiatives.

As a Planner, you will work under the Manager, Planning Services, focusing on diverse duties such as policy application reviews, zoning compliance, and strategic research.

Your role will also involve facilitating public consultations and providing detailed responses to planning inquiries.

Key Responsibilities:

• Process Official Plan and Zoning By-law Amendments

• Conduct site visits and evaluations for compliance

• Author staff reports for planning applications

• Engage in public consultation events

• Maintain planning documents and respond to inquiries

Requirements:

• Degree in Urban Planning or equivalent

• At least two years of experience in a municipal context

• RPP certification in progress desired

• In-depth knowledge of Ontario's Planning Act

• Strong analytical and interpersonal skills
