Maintenance/Cleaning
The Relief Custodial Worker reports to the Principal and cleans and cares for the facilities and equipment of the school. The incumbent is responsible for ensuring that the school environment is maintained in a healthy, safe and sanitary manner. Maintaining these responsibilities will help to ensure the health, safety and security of students, staff and members of the public.
KNOWLEDGE,
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Understanding of cleaning procedures, chemicals, products and equipment
Ability to read and understand labels and instructions, particularly in the use and application of cleaning chemicals and products
Able to work independently with little supervision
Skilled in problem solving and decision making
Effective time management skills
Verbal communication skills
Ability to acquire knowledge of local culture and the ability to work in a multi-cultural environment
Ability to be respectful and possess cultural awareness and sensitivity
Ability to be flexible and reliable
Able to self-motivate and act as a role model for students
Typically, the above qualifications would be attained by:
The completion of Grade 10 and related experience. Equivalencies may be considered.

This job opening is for a Relief position where there are no established hours of work on a daily, weekly or monthly basis and may be required to report to work on an as and when required basis for facilities where services operate on a daily basis throughout the entire year.

Salary Information
The salary for this position starts at $29.22 per hour plus a pro-rated annual Northern Allowance of $14.15 per hour.
