The Cool Aid Health Centre provides healthcare to 7,000 patients, including those experiencing homelessness, mental health challenges, infectious disease, problematic substance use and chronic illness.

As a member of a very active pharmacy team within the Health Centre, the pharmacist will work collaboratively with the broader healthcare team to achieve Health Centre goals. This includes practicing client-centered care and providing medication distribution, individualized drug therapy, and drug information to optimize patient outcomes.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Doctorate of Pharmacy.

Experience working with individuals facing physical and mental health challenges, substance use, homelessness, poverty, or other barriers is considered an asset.

Knowledge of, and ability to provide and monitor, opiate replacement therapies (methadone, buprenorphine) as well as knowledge of current treatments for HIV and hepatitis

C.

Requirements

Licensed and in good standing with the College of Pharmacists of British Columbia.

Successful completion of the Ministry of Public Safety and Solicitor General Criminal Record Check.

Injection certified or willing to obtain injection certification, and able to provide pharmacy clinical services such as medication reviews, minor ailment prescribing, etc.

Job Information

Hourly Wage Rate: $51.37–$64.19, commensurate with experience.

Work Location: 713 Johnson Street. – Cool Aid Health Centre.

Schedule: Alternating two-week rotation

Week 1:
Monday to Saturday, from 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM.

Week 2:
Monday and Tuesday from 10:30 AM to 6:00 PM, and Wednesday and Thursday from 12:30 PM to 8:00 PM.

Weekly Hours
: 35 (average)
