Pay Range: $80,000 CAD to $130,000 CAD
DescriptionThe Big Picture
The Medical Education Specialist is responsible for the design, delivery, and continuous improvement of education programs for new and tenured sales representatives and clinical specialists to drive product adoption across the full portfolio at Baylis Medical Technologies.
This role plays a key part in ensuring customer-facing employees are clinically, scientifically, and technically prepared to support the safe, compliant, and effective use of company technologies across interventional procedures.
Working cross-functionally with Commercial, Clinical, Marketing, and external experts, the Medical Education Specialist delivers engaging and impactful training that strengthens field capability, enhances physician support, with the goal of advancing both clinical practice and patient outcomes.
Your Impact Through Innovation
- Help create the medical education strategy through needs and resource assessments for current and new market segments
- Design and deliver engaging training that ensures commercial teams confidently support physicians and customers in clinical environments
- Create clear, practical learning materials that bring complex clinical and technical concepts to life
- Help shape onboarding experiences that set new hires up for success from day one
- Responsible for new hire sign-off
- Support the ongoing development of field teams, helping them build confidence and deepen their expertise over time
- Maintain a high level of product and clinical knowledge through publications, conferences, hands‑on model experience, physician interaction, and cross-collaboration with internal resources such as R&D, Regulatory, Clinical, and others.
- Understand competitive technology and therapies to effectively articulate the competitive advantage of Baylis Medical Technologies’ products through clinical, scientific, and technical lens.
- Partner with teams across the business to ensure training reflects how our products are used in real‑world settings
- Play a key role in preparing teams for new product launches through effective, timely training
- Collaborate with physicians and external experts to incorporate real clinical perspectives into training experiences
- Contribute to a culture of continuous learning by gathering feedback and improving how we train and develop our teams
- Support customer‑facing education activities to help ensure safe and effective product use
- Master’s degree (or equivalent experience) in life sciences, clinical sciences, or a related field
- 3–5 years of experience in the healthcare or medical device industry
- Experience supporting training, education, or enablement initiatives
- Strong understanding of anatomy, physiology, and clinical concepts
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences
- Ability to simplify complex clinical and technical information into practical learning
- Collaborative mindset with the ability to work cross‑functionally
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Willingness to travel up to 40% of the time
- Experience in neurovascular or catheter-based technologies
- Background in adult education, facilitation, or instructional design
- Experience working with commercial or customer-facing teams
- Exposure to regulated environments (e.g., medical device, pharma)
