Lead Consultant Forensic Clinical Psychologist  AfC Band 8c (pro rata) plus a High Secure Environmental Allowance of £1,818.72 per annum (pro rata) and a High Secure Clinical Responsibility Allowance of £4,365.11 per annum (pro rata)

Post Details  Consultant psychologist based in the Intellectual Disability Service of the State Hospital. The service operates two six‑bed wards for male patients under a Positive Behavioural Support model.
The postholder will oversee psychological input for all patients, manage a small clinical caseload, and lead other psychological services colleagues. Work will involve close collaboration with multidisciplinary teams and participation in the service leadership and senior leadership teams, with departmental and board‑wide responsibilities.
Responsibilities  
• Provide psychological assessment and intervention for psychiatric patients in a high secure setting.

• Supervise and support junior members of the psychology team.

• Contribute to the development of clinical policies and procedures.

• Participate in inter‑disciplinary leadership and strategic planning.
Qualifications  
• Consultant level psychologist with significant forensic experience.

• Excellent communication skills and proven ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.

• Ability to manage both clinical responsibilities and leadership tasks in a high secure environment.
