Job Description
Reporting to the Manager or designate for the area of province they are working, the Emergency Medical Services - EMT/PCP responds to emergency and non-emergency events, and provides assessment, treatment and transportation of the ill or injured persons consistent with The Saskatchewan Ambulance Act and Regulations;
Saskatchewan College of Paramedics (SCoP) Clinical Practice Protocols;
The Paramedics Act and bylaws; and Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) policies, procedures and work standards.

Education
Primary Care Paramedic diploma (PCP)
Licenses
Valid Class 4 driver's license
Other Education and Training
International Trauma Life Support Certificate (ITLS)
Current CPR certification
Basic Cardiac Life Support Certificate (BCLS)

Physically able to perform the duties of pre-hospital emergency care
Able to safely and consistently lift/load stretcher on a regular basis

Familiar with the SK Ministry of Health Ambulance Information System.
Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office programs (Word/Excel/Outlook)
Knowledge of EMS Practitioners legislation/protocols/scope of practice

Ability to exhibit situational awareness
Demonstrates the ability to be resourceful and to adapt to changing conditions
Ability to work independently and as a member of a team
Conflict resolution skills to effectively handle difficult issues

Registered/eligible with the Saskatchewan College of Paramedics at PCP/EMT level
Scheduled hours of work may be reduced during the rotation stipulated when a statutory holiday is recognized during that period.
