Job Description
Reporting to the Southwest EMS Operations Manager the Emergency Medical Technician - Primary Care Paramedic (PCP) is responsible for responding to emergent and non-emergent EMS calls for service; and for providing initial assessment, treatment, stabilization and transport of ill or injured persons at the Basic Life Support level. The PCP will provide care with strict adherence to:
Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) core values, policies, and work standards;
Saskatchewan College of Paramedics (SCoP) Paramedic Clinical Practice Protocols;
The Paramedics Act and SCoP Regulatory and Administrative Bylaws; and The Saskatchewan Ambulance Act and Regulations. Preference for this position will be given to HSAS members in accordance with the terms and conditions of the SAHO/HSAS Collective Agreement.
Education
Primary Care Paramedic diploma (PCP)
Licenses
Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Certificate (CPR)
Automated External Defibrillator Certificate (AED)
Valid Class 4 driver's license
International Trauma Life Support Certificate (ITLS)
Registered Emergency Medical Technician/Primary Care Paramedic (EMT/PCP)

Standard Hours
Registered/eligible with the Saskatchewan College of Paramedics at PCP/EMT level
Scheduled hours of work may be reduced during the rotation stipulated when a statutory holiday is recognized during that period.
