Keyano College Safety Advisor Position

Location: Northeastern Alberta (Fort Chipewyan)

Keyano College is hiring a dedicated Safety Advisor to enhance the health and safety culture at our Fort McMurray campus. This full-time role focuses on compliance and proactive risk management.

Reporting directly to the Manager of Health & Safety, your main task will be advancing occupational health initiatives. This involves collaboration with faculty, staff, and students to ensure safety regulations are met while fostering an environment that prioritizes psychological and physical wellness.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop college-wide health and safety initiatives

• Monitor legislative changes and update safety practices

• Assist in emergency preparedness and response planning

• Conduct audits and internal inspections

• Provide training and coaching on safety matters

Requirements:

• Post-secondary education in a relevant field

• Minimum five years in a related Health and Safety position

• CRSP designation or nearing completion is preferred

• Strong knowledge of safety legislation in Alberta

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
