Mobile Counsellor II - Outreach Service

Location: Northwestern Ontario (Red Lake)

Nodin Mental Health Services invites applications for a Mobile Counsellor II to lead outreach efforts in Sioux Lookout. This role focuses on enhancing life quality for First Nation individuals by providing vital mental health support.

As a full-time Counsellor II in the Mobile Outreach Service, you’ll work on-site while conducting essential outreach activities. Your position includes case management and direct client engagement to help navigate healthcare systems, develop life skills, and provide culturally relevant interventions to at-risk populations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct outreach visits and provide service in various settings

• Develop trust with at-risk First Nation community members

• Offer support in substance use and mental health issues

• Collaborate with agencies for comprehensive services

• Document client interactions and maintain records accurately

Requirements:

• Diploma in mental health or related field preferred

• A minimum of one year experience with substance use issues

• Previous work with First Nations communities beneficial

• Registration with a professional psychotherapy body required

• Valid Ontario Class G driver’s licence needed
