Weeneebayko Area Health Authority (WAHA) is looking for an experienced professional to fill the key role of Occupational Health & Disability Management Coordinator.

What We Do
There has never been a more exciting time to be are an integrated health system providing the full continuum of care to the six communities of the western James Bay coast with over 500 employees, physicians, and partners in care. As a health authority, you will work in a unique setting where you have the opportunity to care for patients in all phases of their life journey, in all areas of their health experience.
From Primary, Acute, and Mental Health, Dental, Specialty Clinics, Population Health and the WAHA Paramedic Service, the opportunities for growth are boundless. Position Profile Requirements:
Excellent assessment skills
Strong knowledge of privacy legislation
Demonstrated organizational skills and ability to multi-task
Experience with the Microsoft suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and/ or HRIS is preferred
Ability to work in a fast paced and constantly changing environment
Key Responsibilities:
New hire immunization review & record keeping
Health & Safety assessments
Mask fit testing
Conducts administrative duties for the Manager of People Safety & Wellbeing
Maintains employee records and statistics of clinic visits
Reporting absence claims (Sick, WSIB, LTD)
Actively participate, implementation, and maintenance of health & safety policies
Review and assess applications for short term disability. Assess eligibility for leave and benefits under the Hospitals of Ontario Disability Income Program (HOODIP)
Qualifications/
Experience:
Bachelor of Science in Nursing required
Registered with College of Nurses of Ontario and in good standing
Occupational Health Nurse Certification
2 years Minimum experience as a registered nurse
Experience working in acute care settings is an asset
Occupational Health experience is an asset
Ability to communicate in the local native Cree language is an asset
