Position: Full Time Community Health Advocate
Location: North Island, Sunshine Coast, and Southern Gulf Islands (Whistler)

Become a Community Health Advocate in Alert Bay, promoting wellness across the ‘Namgis community for all age groups.

Your role will focus on client engagement and health education.

In this full-time role, the Community Health Representative engages the community through various health initiatives aimed at promoting wellness for infants, children, youth, and adults. Working alongside the Community Health Nurse, you will facilitate health education, outreach, and provide essential administrative support while fostering a culturally centered care approach.

Key Responsibilities:

• Promote health programs through client engagement

• Coordinate community health clinics and workshops

• Provide outreach to support health education

• Administer programs with a focus on cultural respect

• Collaborate with the Integrated Service Team

Requirements:

• Six months experience with First Nations communities

• Three years in a health organization role

• Basic First Aid and CPR certifications

• Minimum grade 12 education

• Strong verbal and written communication skills
