Your role will involve guiding peers in navigating health and substance use services.

The Specialized Community Services department at Northern Health is looking for an experienced Peer Advocate. In this role, you will support peers, help in policy development, and foster community involvement in health programs. Your aim will be to enhance harm reduction practices within the community.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in developing harm reduction policies

• Engage peers in meaningful community initiatives

• Facilitate health promotion and substance use activities

• Monitor and evaluate program implementation

• Work alongside Indigenous communities to promote health

Requirements:

• Two years of experience with peer support

• Understanding of substance use and health promotion

• Background in social services or public health

• Knowledge of First Nations cultural contexts

• Valid BC Driver’s License as needed
