Role Description The Medical Office Assistant role at Two Hills Medical Clinic is a part-time, on-site position based in Two Hills, AB. The Medical Office Assistant will greet and register patients, answer and direct phone calls, and schedule, confirm, and update appointments. This role includes maintaining accurate patient records, managing charts and documentation, and supporting physicians and clinical staff with administrative tasks.
The Medical Office Assistant will verify patient information, assist with billing and insurance-related paperwork, and ensure that the reception and waiting areas are clean, organized, and welcoming. The role requires maintaining patient confidentiality, using clinic software effectively, and contributing to efficient daily operations.
Qualifications Strong phone etiquette and professional communication skills for interacting with patients, families, and healthcare providers.
Proficiency in appointment scheduling and basic administrative assistance, including handling paperwork, filing, and data entry.
Working knowledge of medical terminology to support accurate documentation and effective communication with clinical staff.
Experience with insurance verification or patient eligibility checks, and comfort handling related forms and inquiries.
High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a Medical Office Assistant or related healthcare administration program is an asset.
Comfort using electronic medical record (EMR) systems and basic office software (email, scheduling tools, word processing).
Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced clinic environment.
