Public Health Health Promoter in Eastern Zone

Location: Canso region (Havre Boucher)

Join Nova Scotia Health as a Health Promoter, focusing on early years health initiatives. Collaborate with teams to create supportive environments for maternal and infant health.

In this temporary, full-time position, you will report to the Early Years Zone Manager while working to improve population health. Leveraging your experience in developing health promotion strategies, you will build partnerships and engage the community in participatory activities. Utilize core public health competencies to foster significant cultural and system changes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Build strategic partnerships and coalitions in public health

• Conduct community health assessments for informed strategies

• Drive community engagement initiatives for health improvement

• Advocate for policy changes through collaboration

• Use evidence-informed strategies to influence action

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Health Promotion or similar

• Minimum of 3 years of relevant program experience

• Experience in partnership development and facilitation

• Understanding of health equity and social determinants

• Must possess a valid driver's license and vehicle
