Mental Wellness Advisor At Hart Hub Northeastern Ontario

Location: Northeastern Manitoulin and the Islands

Be a key player in mental health at HART Hub as a Mental Wellness Counsellor in Central Communities. Provide culturally sensitive support to Aboriginal clients aged 18 and older, integrating traditional and up-to-date wellness practices.
This full time contract role focuses on outreach mental health services for Indigenous individuals, ensuring a holistic approach by collaborating with various health service partners.
Responsibilities   Facilitate outreach assessments and supportive counselling
Collaborate with local health workers and organizations
Uphold quality assurance through policies and procedures
Integrate traditional healing practices into counselling
Maintain detailed records in electronic case management systems
Requirements   Completed B.S.W. or M.S.W., with at least 2 years of experience
Strong understanding of First Nation culture and mental health
Proven skills in clinical counseling techniques
Ability to work with diverse health professionals
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
Impact lives by addressing mental wellness in Indigenous communities, employing both traditional and clinical strategies to support client needs.
