Parent Support Specialist in Grandmother’s Bay

Location: La Ronge

Join LLRIBHS as a Parent Support Worker focused on maternal and child health in Grandmother’s Bay. This vital role assists families with infants through culturally-informed practices.

This position requires a 7.5-hour shift schedule, including possible overtime, while traveling from La Ronge to nearby communities. You will support the Maternal Child Health Program, enhancing health outcomes for families with children aged 0-6 years. Key skills include organization, adaptability, and a strong commitment to community health.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide strength-based in-home support for families

• Teach health topics to individuals and groups

• Collaborate with Community Health Nurse on services

• Advocate and act as a liaison for families

• Organize community workshops and educational events

Requirements:

• Early Childhood Education Certificate preferred

• Training in Growing Great Kids is beneficial

• Certified First Aid & CPR required

• Excellent communication skills

• Valid Class 5 Driver’s License
