Health Records Administrator
The Health Records Administrator is responsible for accurate and timely DAD and NACRS coding and abstracting and assists with Health Records Clerk duties as assigned.
Responsibilities
Perform NACRS coding and abstracting of Emergency Room, Day Surgery and Oncology (Chemotherapy) records
Perform DAD coding and abstracting for all inpatient records
Review error reports and process corrections
Assist with monthly CIHI and mandatory quarterly Ministry of Health submissions
Process Release of Information requests, logging required information for annual IPC statistical reporting
Create invoices for Release of Information services
Process Inpatient Discharges, including scanning records, auditing record for completion, flagging all deficiencies and abstracting the data into Med
2020 Win Recs software
Check records; scan documents to patient account
Scan records to Meditech Expanse eChart
Perform Meditech chart maintenance as required
Assist in the preparation of records for Death Chart Review
Assist in month-end statistics
Attend monthly ONE HITS/Regional meetings (as applicable)
Locate and deliver charts for Day Surgery and Specialists Clinics
Perform department reception duties
Respond to clinician requests
Respond to internal and external general requests
Review, record and prepare appropriate charts for destruction
Assist with switchboard, reception and admitting duties as required
Appear in court with subpoenaed medical records, as required
Assist with the training of clerical staff

Qualifications
Required
Current CHIM certification with Canadian Health Information Management Association
Computer experience
Mandatory proof of fully immunized COVID—19 vaccination status
Preferred
Two years relevant hospital experience
Ability to provide regular attendance.
