Health Care Aide

Position: Health Care Aide at Southern Health-Santé Sud
Location: Southeastern Manitoba (Lorette)

Become a vital part of patient care as a Health Care Aide with Southern Health-Santé Sud. This role involves supporting residents in daily living activities while adhering to established standards of practice.

In this position, you will work under the direction of nursing professionals to deliver compassionate, person-centered care. The ideal candidate should have 1-2 years of experience in a healthcare setting, preferably with elderly or disabled clients. Educational requirements include a Health Care Aide Certificate and familiarity with privacy legislation and workplace safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist residents with daily living activities as per care plans

• Support nursing staff in executing care strategies

• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to privacy requirements

• Participate in required training and develop competency

• Communicate effectively with residents and team members

Requirements:

• Health Care Aide Certificate from a recognized program

• 1-2 years’ experience in healthcare, especially with elderly clients

• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

• Understanding of PHIA and FIPPA regulations

• Good attendance record and physical ability for demands
