Public Health Inspector I
As a Public Health Inspector I and appointed Executive Officer under the authority of the Public Health Act, you will be responsible for the delivery of a comprehensive environmental public health program within an assigned geographical area. Your duties will include prevention, correction or limitation of the effects of physical, chemical or biological environmental health hazards, ensuring the health of individuals and communities.

You will support individual and community wellness through monitoring inspections, disease surveillance, consultation and enforcement of the Public Health Act and regulations in the areas of safe food, safe drinking water, safe recreational water and the safe built environment.

Required Qualifications

Completion of a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health or related field plus a recognized Environmental Health technical program.

Completion of a certificate in Public Health Inspection (Canada).

Active membership in good standing with the Canadian Institute of Public Health Inspectors (CIPHI).
