Position: Recreation Aide (RA) - Full Time (FT) - Timmins
Location: Timiskaming North (Iroquois Falls A)

Location & Shift  Extendicare Home, Timmins, Ontario. Full‑time evening shifts.

Key Responsibilities   Plan, implement, evaluate, develop and revise both individual and group activation programs based on assessed needs under the guidance of the Supervisor.
Set up and clean activity area as necessary and transport residents to and from programs.
Monitor the behavior and condition of residents during programs and report any significant changes to the Supervisor and nursing staff as appropriate.
Maintain program and resident records according to department policy.
Communicate participation by residents to registered staff.
Requirements   Proof of successful completion of an approved Recreation and Leisure Services / Gerontology Diploma or Degree program from a post‑secondary institution in any jurisdiction equivalent to Ontario, or skills and past experience in a health care or similar setting.
Knowledge and demonstrated experience in one‑on‑one/group program planning, care planning, resident assessments, implementation, and evaluation for geriatric population especially those cognitively impaired is preferred.

Experience with an older adult population an asset.
Strong customer and resident service skills.
Experience in a high‑paced customer service setting an asset.
Flexible and willingness to learn new tasks.
Ability to multi‑task and adapt to quickly changing priorities.
Excellent interpersonal and oral communication skills.
Ability to read, write, and follow instructions in English (other languages an asset).
