Therapy Aide - Recreation

Location: Northwestern Alberta (High Level)

Job Overview
Recreation Therapy Aide – Fairview Health Complex Type A (Long Term Care). This position offers a competitive rate of pay and a Remote Retention Allowance up to $3,000 annually, payable on an hourly basis for all hours paid at the basic rate of pay. The role provides recreation services to residents and works closely with the Allied Health and Nursing teams.

Role Description
As a Therapy Aide, the employee works independently and as part of the interdisciplinary team to deliver rehabilitation services. Responsibilities include preparing and applying routine interventions; promoting client healthy living and self‑care independence; motivating clients to participate in therapy protocols or programs; assisting with client lifts and transfers, positioning, and basic activities of daily living (ADL) and instrumental activities of daily living (IADL) within the therapy program.

Compensation
Minimum Salary: $24.14/hour. Maximum Salary: $26.98/hour. Remote Retention Allowance up to $3,000 per year.

Required Qualifications

Completion of Grade 12.

Excellent communication and collaborative skills.

Physically capable of pushing wheelchairs for extended periods, loading clients onto the bus for outings, supporting clients in a range of physical hygiene tasks, and assisting with client transfers throughout a full shift.

Preferred Qualifications

Health Care Aide certificate or equivalent.

Experience working with elderly or physically challenged individuals.

Experience with recreation in a medical setting.
