Elevate healthcare standards as a Medical Device Reprocessing Technician at Dartmouth General Hospital. This permanent, full-time role involves decontamination, sterilization, and functional testing of medical devices.

Reporting to the Manager and Supervisor, this position plays a crucial role in the Medical Device Reprocessing Department. You will engage in detailed technical duties related to sterilizing and distributing surgical supplies, as well as clerical record keeping. Ideal candidates possess a Grade 12 education and have completed an approved Medical Device Reprocessing Technician Program.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct thorough decontamination and sterilization of devices

• Perform function testing on various medical and surgical supplies

• Maintain accurate records and documentation of processes

• Operate MDR-related equipment safely and effectively

• Adhere to infection control measures and practices

Requirements:

• Completion of a Medical Device Reprocessing Technician Program

• Knowledge of anatomy, medical terminology, and microbiology preferred

• Critical thinking skills for effective problem-solving

• Experience in an MDR setting is an asset

• Certification or practice in infection control
