South East 6 Primary Health Care Network provides core and rotational services to Fort Qu’Appelle, Balcarres, Lestock and Raymore. Based out of the Fort Qu’Appelle or Balcarres Primary Health Care Centre, the physicians collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team in providing primary health care services to the community of 2500 (increased population in summer months), surrounding rural municipalities, and the File Hills Qu’Appelle Tribal Council communities.
Position details and responsibilities include:
Provide high-quality, evidence-based, full-spectrum care to a diverse patient population.
Challenge yourself professionally with a truly generalist practice – your clinics will be a satisfying mix of:
Walk-in/urgent care visits in settings with x-ray and lab support.Complete care of patients with chronic and complex medical conditions supported by both interdisciplinary care providers and adequate time to address.Patients at all ages and stages – from well newborn visits through to end-of-life care.Promote and expand primary health care with a focus on delivery of a continuum of comprehensive and coordinated services responsive to community needs.Develop areas of expertise through supported learning and collaborative relationships with specialists in infectious diseases, nephrology, and palliative care.Collaborate closely with allied healthcare providers to provide optimal cradle-to-grave care including home care, physical therapy, occupational therapy, dietitian, mental health therapy, and traditional knowledge keepers.Organize and document excellent patient care through effective and efficient use of EMR (Telus Med Access).Provide emergency care on call in a busy and exciting (and newly renovated!) rural emergency room:Proximity to a wide range of both summer and winter recreational facilities means a variety of interesting presentations.Proximity to tertiary care (45 minutes by road and 25 minutes by STARS helicopter) facilitates rapid disposition of complex or unstable patients.An experienced nursing complement supportive of new physicians.Have your say in healthcare planning and system improvements via regular clinic, hospital advisory and Practitioner Advisory Committee meetingsBe supported in reflective practice with regular continuing medical education both in protected personal time away and as provided through hospital-organized courses.Participate in the education, supervision, and evaluation of medical learners of all stages.South East 6 Primary Health Care Network provides a variety of core and rotational services including:
Public Health nursing, Mental Health & Addictions, Physical & Occupational therapies, Diabetes education, Home care, Dietitian services, lab, x-ray, Nurse Practitioner and Midwifery.
South East 6 Primary Health Care Network also supports the long-term care facilities in the network with over 80 permanent residents. These facilities also provide respite care and adult day care.The provides a wide range of fully integrated services including: 24 hour acute, palliative, emergency, laboratory, radiology and visiting specialist services, a Women’s Health Centre, CRI clinics, expanded maternal/child health care, and access to ultrasound and Telehealth services.A wide range of preventative, health promotion and cultural services are provided through the First Nation’s Health Services and the White Raven Healing Center (located within the facility).Relocation Package

The which provides up to $200,000 over five years to family physicians practicing, or returning to practice, in rural and remote communities in SaskatchewanThe , which provides financial reward to physicians who practice in the province for extended periods ranging from $7,000 - $14,000 per year for fulltime work.Job Qualifications
Certified or eligible to be certified with the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC)Regular or Provisional License with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Saskatchewan (CPSS) (or eligible to be licensed)Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certificationRecommended - Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)Valid driver’s licenseAn understanding of traditional medicine and cultural practices and ability to collaborate with Traditional Knowledge Keeper to meet client care needsSuccessful SHA credentialing including but not limited to acceptable reference checks and criminal record check with vulnerable sectorCurrent Canadian Medical Protective Association coverageLegal entitlement to work in CanadaBenefits
