HOURS OF WORK The stated hours of work are approximate as schedules are subject to change with the operational needs of the Health Centre. Changes made to hours of work will follow the terms of the applicable collective agreement, company policy and/or legislation.
WHAT YOU’LL DO The RN, as one of the providers of health care, has a unique role in promoting health, in preventing illness, and in helping clients attain and maintain the highest level of health possible. S/he is responsible for providing comprehensive care to patients, with predictable and unpredictable outcomes who may or may not be clinically stable. The RN practices in accordance with the College of Nurses of Ontario Professional Standards.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING Current Certificate of Registration from the College of Nurses of Ontario
Current BCLS required
Ability to assess, monitor and provide care for Women in a 2B level Labor and Delivery Unit
Successful completion of/or current enrolment in Perinatal specialty certificate. Applicants must commit to obtaining their Perinatal specialty certificate within one year from their date of hire.
The Canadian Nurses Association Perinatal Exam will be considered an equivalent.
Fetal Health Surveillance Certification required or a commitment to successfully complete within 1 month of hire; and every year renewal maintained
Operating Room Certificate as an asset, or experience in Birthing Unit Operating room – both circulating and scrubbing duties
Post anaesthetic experience an asset
Neonatal Resuscitation Provider certification required or a commitment to successfully complete within 1 months of hire; and every 2 years renewal maintained
Baby Friendly Initiative 20-hour Breastfeeding Course required or a commitment to successfully complete within 6 months of hire.
