In addition to a competitive rate of pay, we have a Remote Retention Allowance in place to an annual maximum of $3,000. This allowance is non-pensionable and is payable on an hourly basis for all hours paid at the basic rate of pay.

Description

As a Combined Laboratory and X-Ray Technologist I, you will perform procedures in both the laboratory and in diagnostic imaging, typically in rural sites. You will work as a member of the inter-professional team and be responsible for collecting and analyzing biological specimens, conducting X-ray examinations, ECGs and reporting results. Your responsibilities include preparing patients, venipuncture and micropuncture, routine equipment maintenance, maintaining supplies and performing quality control procedures as required.

Required Qualifications

Completion of diploma from an accredited program in Combined Laboratory and X-Ray Technology (CLXT).Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Combined Laboratory and X-ray Technologists (ACCLXT).

Required Qualifications

This is a Laboratory and Diagnostic Imaging position. The successful candidate should have the ability to work various shifts including days, evenings, weekends, and take call by responding within 30 minutes.

An ability to work well with patients and all members of the healthcare team. Entering, reviewing, reporting, and distributing patient results in an accurate, complete, timely, and efficient manner. Assessing unusual tests results and proceeding with established procedures for follow up with senior staff, pathologists, and physicians. Operation, calibration, and performance of basic troubleshooting with selected instrumentation and reporting equipment malfunction.
