Fraser Health Surgical Equipment Technician

Location: Kamloops North

Become a Surgical Equipment Technician at Fraser Health in British Columbia, focusing on sterile processing and patient safety. This role is critical in maintaining surgical instruments and anaesthetic equipment cleanliness.

In this role, you will support the Health Services Manager, ensuring that all surgical supplies are sterile and ready for use in the Operating Room. Responsibilities include cleaning, assembling, transporting, and properly storing surgical instruments. Effective communication and attention to detail are crucial for success.

Key Responsibilities:

• Sterilize and store surgical instruments and equipment

• Transport contaminated items to appropriate areas

• Maintain cleanliness of sterile supply areas

• Restock supplies and prepare shelves for procedures

• Assist with clerical tasks related to workload statistics

Requirements:

• Completed Grade 12 and Sterile Supply Processing Program

• Recent experience in a similar role preferred

• Knowledge of medical terminology essential

• Strong communication skills in writing and speech

• Physical capability to perform duties effectively
