Weeneebayko Area Health Authority (WAHA) is looking for an experienced professional to fill the key role of Nurse Practitioner – Indigenous Health Promotion and Disease Prevention.

• Knowledge of health promotion, disease prevention, and population health principles, including use of data and quality improvement approaches to inform care
• Understanding of Indigenous determinants of health, health inequities, and the application of culturally safe, trauma-informed, and Indigenous harm reduction approaches
• Understanding of traditional and land-based approaches to wellness and the unique context of the James and Hudson Bay region
• Strong clinical assessment, decision-making, and problem-solving skills within NP scope of practice
• Ability to collaborate effectively across interdisciplinary teams and programs without supervisory responsibility
• Demonstrates respect for and alignment with Indigenous perspectives, values, and ways of knowing, applying culturally safe and trauma‑informed approaches
