Sonographer Position - Port Hardy Hospital

Step into a dynamic role as a Generalist Sonographer with Island Health at Port Hardy Hospital, BC. This temporary full-time position emphasizes ultrasound examination and patient safety in a collaborative environment.

As a member of the Port Hardy Hospital team, you will operate ultrasound equipment, prepare patient information, and work under the supervision of a radiologist. The ideal candidate will have completed an accredited Ultrasound Technologist Diploma and have one year of relevant experience in healthcare settings. Certification from Sonography Canada or ARDMS is required.

Key Responsibilities:

• Execute general ultrasound exams effectively

• Prepare and maintain ultrasound equipment for patients

• Complete and submit reports and requisitions as needed

• Provide patient monitoring during ultrasound procedures

• Present ultrasound findings to radiologists promptly

Requirements:

• Graduation from an approved Ultrasound Technologist program

• Certification from Sonography Canada and/or ARDMS required

• Recent one year experience in healthcare essential

• Eligibility for registration with Sonography Canada

• Capability to perform physical duties of the job
