Job Description:Reporting to the Manager or designate for the area of province they are working, the Emergency Medical Services - EMT/PCP responds to emergency and non-emergency events, and provides assessment, treatment and transportation of the ill or injured persons consistent with The Saskatchewan Ambulance Act and regulations;
Saskatchewan College of Paramedics (SCoP) Clinical Practice Protocols;
The Paramedics Act and bylaws; and Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) policies, procedures and work standards.

Education- Primary Care Paramedic Certificate from an approved educational institute
- Valid Class 4 driver's license
- Basic Cardiac Life Support Certificate (BCLS)
- International Trauma Life Support Certificate (ITLS)
- Current CPR certification
- Listening skills
- Interpersonal skills
- Ability to function effectively in high stress and in emergency situations
- Decision making through the application of knowledge and critical thinking
- Positive approach to deal with challenging situations with empathy and sincerity
- Physically able to perform the duties of pre-hospital emergency care
- Ability to exhibit situational awareness
- Demonstrates the ability to be resourceful and to adapt to changing conditions
- Ability to work independently and as a member of a team
- Demonstrates effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Able to safely and consistently lift/load stretcher on a regular basis
- Knowledge of EMS Practitioners legislation/protocols/scope of practice
- Ability to operate emergency vehicles safely and effectively
- Familiar with the SK Ministry of Health Ambulance Information System.
- Ability to be resilient
- Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office programs (Word/Excel/Outlook)
- Conflict resolution skills to effectively handle difficult issues
- Registered/eligible with the Saskatchewan College of Paramedics at PCP/EMT level
- No guaranteed hours. Must be Available a minimum of twenty-four (24) hours per 3 week period. Must be available all shifts, short shifts, short notice calls, stats and holidays, where applicable
