Job Description :
Reporting to the Manager or designate for the area of province they are working, the Emergency Medical Services - EMT/PCP responds to emergency and non-emergency events. and provides assessment, treatment and transportation of the ill or injured persons consistent with The Saskatchewan Ambulance Act and Regulations;
Saskatchewan College of Paramedics (SCoP) Clinical Practice Protocols;
The Paramedics Act and bylaws; and Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) policies, procedures and work standards.

Primary Care Paramedic Certificate from an approved educational institute

Licenses
Valid Class 4 driver's license

International Trauma Life Support Certificate (ITLS)
Basic Life Support Certificate (BLS)
Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Certificate (CPR)

Knowledge and Abilities
Familiar with the SK Ministry of Health Ambulance Information System.
Physically able to perform the duties of pre-hospital emergency care
Ability to function effectively in high stress and in emergency situations
Able to safely and consistently lift/load stretcher on a regular basis
Demonstrates the ability to be resourceful and to adapt to changing conditions
Ability to operate emergency vehicles safely and effectively
knowledge of legislation and regulations which governs practice
Decision making through the application of knowledge and critical thinking
Ability to work independently and as a member of a team
Demonstrated ability to use sound clinical judgement

Other Information
Registered/eligible with the Saskatchewan College of Paramedics at PCP/EMT level
Scheduled hours of work may be reduced during the rotation stipulated when a statutory holiday is recognized during that period.
