About Ambulance New BrunswickAmbulance New Brunswick provides emergency medical services, dispatching 130,000 calls per year and transporting patients to hospitals by ambulance. Specialized air ambulance crews transfer critically ill patients to medical centres throughout the Maritimes and beyond.
Duties Of PositionClinical expectations and responsibilities are based on the National Occupational Competency Profile (NOCP) for Primary Care Paramedics, Paramedic Association of New Brunswick registration requirements, and Ambulance NB policies, procedures, and protocols. Primary Care Paramedics provide medical support to patients on scene and en route to hospitals. They are skilled in emergency techniques and deliver various medical treatments, ensuring care until the job is completed.
Required Qualifications- You are entitled to work in Canada (Canadian citizenship, permanent resident status, or work permit).
- Must demonstrate the ability to work efficiently as a member of the team and be able to work all shifts as assigned, maintaining a good attendance record.
- Must have a high regard for confidentiality and patient safety.
- Primary Care Paramedic program/course of over six months; if you do not have one, consider available paramedic programs in Atlantic Canada.
- Must be registered, active Paramedic with the Paramedic Association of New Brunswick.
- Must have a valid New Brunswick Class 4 Driver's Licence (or equivalent).
- Current resume and cover letter.
- Copy of your PCP diploma from an accredited institution.
- Proof of current registration with the Paramedic Association of New Brunswick.
- Proof of completion of a Physical Abilities Test (PAT) specific to working as a paramedic within the last 12 months.
- Proof of current CPR level C certification issued within the last 12 months.
- Photocopy of front and back of a valid Class 4 driver’s license (or equivalent) with a minimum of one year driving experience.
- Driver's abstract issued within the last 30 days.
- Copy of any valid Driver’s course certificate (e.g., CEVO, VFIS, NS VSP) issued within the last three years.
- Criminal Record with Vulnerable Sector Check issued within the last 30 days.
- Immunization Record for Tetanus Tdap within the last 10 years, 2 MMR vaccines (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) or lab evidence of immunity, 2 Varicella vaccines (Chicken Pox) or lab evidence of immunity, 3 Hepatitis B doses and lab evidence of immunity, TB skin test (2 step) and a 1-step within the last 12 months; if reactive, a follow-up chest X-ray may be required.
- Valid official language assessments (oral assessment only) in both French and English from the Department of Post-secondary Education, Training and Labour.
- Additional training and/or education is highly valued.
