Home and Community Care Worker

Position: Home and Community Care Worker I
Location: Igloolik

Support clients and families as a Home and Community Care Worker I with the Government of Nunavut. This role includes meal preparation, daily living aid, and recording essential client information with the utmost confidentiality.

As part of the Home and Community Care Program, you will frequently interact with clients and their families, reporting to the Supervisor. Your primary goal is to assist clients in their daily activities, including meal preparation and light housekeeping. Additionally, you will document client data accurately to maintain clear communication and foster trust.

Key Responsibilities:

• Handle all client information confidentially

• Implement care plans through a detailed task list

• Prepare nutritious meals and assist with special diets

• Plan meals and manage grocery shopping efforts

• Support clients with daily living tasks as needed

Requirements:

• Capable of working independently at clients' homes

• Must obtain a driver's license within 12 months

• Certifications in CPR and First Aid advantageous

• Fluency in Inuktitut is essential

• Understanding of Inuit culture and community dynamics valuable
